Two of the four goddesses, hope and good fortune, at the entrance of the John H. Core mausoleum in Norfolk's Elmwood Cemetery. It is the largest private mausoleum in the City and was constructed in the early 1900's under the specific guidance of Mr. Core's will. John Core was a businessman and a member of Mosby's Rangers during the Civil War. He and his wife Martha Anne rested in peace for almost 100 years until the mausoleum was vandalized in 2007. This picture was made with a Canon G10, 1/100s, f/8.0, ISO 200, 63mm equivalent focal length and converted to black and white with a "Holga" look using Silver Efex Pro in Photoshop Elements.

This sculpture was done by a fellow name Edwin Sanford. Or something close to that. it was fun to see a picture of a work that i have just read about.

Thanks Einar for the comments. I think you are referring to Edward Field Sanford, Jr. but I did not know who the sculptor of this work was.
