Landmarks of Our Nation's Beginning is on the City of Virginia Beach's official seal along with the original
Cape Henry lighthouse and the
First Landing Cross. This picture shows the two
Cape Henry lighthouses. The old lighthouse on the right dates from 1792. It was the first federal construction project under the Constitution. The "new" lighthouse on the left was built in 1881 and remains in use today. Canon 40D, 1/160 sec @ f/6.3, ISO 100.
