Ritual - Day 152 #CY365
A Saturday night ritual for us is a trip to Doumar's in Norfolk Virginia for curb service and the famous "Ringo" sundae. A blend of homemade Maola vanilla ice cream and crushed waffle cones, topped with hot fudge and a big red cherry. iPhone 5s.

Health - Day 134 #CY365
Eating a healthy lunch at Chartreuse Bistro is a favorite of mine. Chef Chris Corrie worked up this wonderful dish: pan seared halibut, French lentils, spinach and chorizo butter sauce. It was almost too pretty to eat. What to do, take a picture of course, and then chow down. iPhone 5s using Instagram.

A Perfect Duo - Day 100 #CY365
Today's challenge was food photography and the prompt was "a perfect duo". What's more perfect than pie and ice cream; getting to eat the pie and ice cream after photographing it. Had to work fast. Olympus OM-D E-M1, 1/60 sec @ f/11.0, ISO 800, 3 LED litepanels and one overhead room light.

Yummy - Day 14 #CY365
Today challenge: "Yummy". This is ginger pear white iced tea at the Chartreuse Bistro. Chartreuse is a locally owned organic farm to table European bistro located in the historic district in downtown Norfolk, Virginia. The menu is different every day based on what's fresh and available. They make these wonderful and different iced teas and flavored sodas every day. All I can say is Yummy! iPhone 5, 1/20 sec @ f/2.8, ISO 320, Camera+ App.

A Good Egg
- According to Robespierre, "Omelets are not made without breaking eggs." But according to the more authoritative source Stephen Colbert, "You CAN make an omelet without breaking eggs. It's just a really bad omelet." Canon 7D, 1/1250 sec @ f/4.0, ISO 800, 100mm macro.

Charlie's Challenge
- My boss, Philip Shucet, dives into the Charlie's Challenge - eat a 12 egg omlete and 8 pankcakes in an hour. Charlie's Cafe is located a block from our office in Norfolk Virginia. Philip tweeted last week that if HRT's opening weekend ridership on the new Tide light rail exceeded 75,000, he would attempt the Charlie's Challenge. He made good on that pledge this morning. After a noble effort of eating all the eggs and 5 and half pancakes he was done, falling just short of finishing. Before this morning 47 others had tried and failed and only 2 had succeeded in completing the challenge. Today's winner was the Foodbank of Southeast Virginia who benefited from donoations. Crazy Angel
- The "Crazy Angel" roll at Nara Sushi in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Seared tuna & asparagus with tuna, salmon, whitefish, eel and tobiko on top - a spicy wonder. We also had a ginger and scallion soft shell crab as an appetizer. Yummy! Canon G11, 1/10 sec @ f/4.0, ISO 800 in macro mode.

Daily Bread
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors. (Matthew 6:11)

Terrapin's
- It's Virginia Beach Restaurant Week so we dined out tonight with our good friends Susan and Duane at Terrapin Restaurant on Holly Road in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Always great food and drink and the atmosphere is special. This photo shows the paper lanterns over the bar with the open kitchen in the background. I was facing away from the scene but a wall of mirrors gives every seat at the table a great view. The appetizer and main course were wonderful but you can't go to Terrapin's and not have desert. I had the double chocolate brownie toffee mousse with vanilla toasted marshmallow malt ice cream. Check out this presentation. Canon G11, 1/25 sec @ f/3.5, ISO 800.
