May Flowers - Day 122 #CY365
Today's challenge was to photograph a flower from a different perspective. I saw these daisies in a pot outside of a bike shop in Raleigh North Carolina. Following Katrina's lead, I took my picture from below using the face cam on my iPhone. I liked the way it captured the sun's rays illuminating the daisy. iPhone 5s, Camera+ App.

Party! - Day 63 #CY365
Well it not exactly a party per se, it's lunch at the Chartreuse Bistro in downtown Norfolk, Virginia. It's one of my favorite places to eat. The food is wonderful, the tableware and decor are inspiring and the whole team make it a wonderful place for a relaxing break in the middle of the day. Chartreuse is locally owned by husband and wife team - general manager Karine Varga and executive chef Christopher Corrie. Just in case you're interested today's lunch was fish stew; a kale salad with goat cheese dressing, almonds, apricot, and onion; and an amazing mushroom & fontina focaccia. The menu is different everyday, you must try when in Norfolk.

Tournesol
I can certainly see why Van Gogh was so captivated by the Sunflower that he painted a series of sunflowers (tournesols in French) hoping to welcome and impress his friend and fellow painter Paul Gauguin. You can see a black and white version of this photo at The World in Black and White blog. Canon 7D, 1/160 sec @ f/5.6, ISO 800, 100mm macro lens.

Big Yellow Taxi
- There are over 13,000 yellow taxicabs in New York City and they seemed to always being moving creating a constant yellow blur on city streets. The other common vehicle seen around new York streets are the NYPD's RMPs (Radio Motor Patrol) or police cars to everyone else. Canon G11, 1/4 sec @ f/8.0, ISO 200.

Abstract
- We picked up a new piece of art glass by Jeff Price recently. This image is a macro photo that is slightly out of focus and yes that was intentional on my part. By illuminating with an LED Litepanel and blurring the image slightly, the patterns and colors really jump out. Canon 40D, 1/500 sec @ f/2.8, ISO 200, 100mm macro lens.

Ground Level
- The lowly and often despised dandelion is really a beautiful and amazing plant. Earlier I posted a photo of a seed parachute ball which follows the blooming phase. This close-up photo shows the beauty of the flower bloom. It was nice day to lay on the ground in the sun and take macro photos. I always find something new when I take the time to look close enough. Canon 40D, 1/100 sec @ f/16.0, ISO 400, 100mm macro with the lifesize adapter.
