146 - Marching to Infinity

From 365 Project
These fallen soldiers will march on in perfect ranks for infinity. The Hampton National Cemetery, Phoebus Annex on the day after Memorial Day. Some of the 28,000+ flags still fluttering in the early morning breeze pay tribute to the memory of those who served our country. This section dates from the early 20th century and contains many Civil War veterans who died at the Hampton Old Soldiers Home - now the Hampton V.A. Hospital. Note the designation U.S.C.T. on Alvin Went's marker in this photo link. There are thousands of these markers at Hampton. Post a comment if you know what it stands for. Canon 40D, 8mm fish eye lens, 1/1600 sec @ f/8.0, ISO 200.

144 - Cool and Refreshing

From 365 Project
Summer is here, so I thought a photo that made you feel cool and refreshed was in order. This orange slice in sparking water creates just that feeling. Canon 40D, 50mm compact macro, 1/250 sec @ f/4.0, ISO 100. A little bright sunlight and some help from a reflector. Thanks Bryan Peterson for the creative macro lesson.

143 - Prism Effect

From 365 Project
I noticed this rainbow like prism effect on our foyer floor early this morning. A ray of morning sun coming through the beveled glass in the front door produced this colorful effect. It was gone in just moments, but not before my camera captured it forever. Canon G10, 11mm, 1/15sec @ f/2.8, ISO 400.

141 - Decay

From 365 Project
I like taking pictures of older things that have been left to decay by the society they once served. This is part of an old chimney on a warehouse adjacent to the Lambert's Point RR tracks on Princess Anne Road in Norfolk, Virginia. The bricks are lose and falling away, the iron bands placed years ago to add life are failing and the vines are working slowly on nature's reclamation. It's only a matter of time. Canon 40D, 173mm, 1/100 sec @ f/18.0, ISO 100.

From 365 Project
Coldplay - Yellow from the Viva La Vida tour tonight at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Great show, the band was awesome. Blackberry Storm Camera Phone, I was the only one who didn't carry a camera or video camera in.
