Happy 400th!

- Happy 400th Anniversary to the City of Hampton Virginia. Founded on July 9, 1610 - yes that's right 16-10, 10 years before the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock. This is a picture inside of the fourth St. John's Parrish Church built in 1728. The town was originally called Kecoughtan after the Native American community located on the same site, it was later renamed to Elizabeth City, then Southampton and finally Hampton. Lone Calla

- My lone calla lily shows off its graceful curves and lovely yellow color. I only have one plant and usualy only get one bloom a year, so it's really special. Canon 7D, 1/1600 sec @ f/5.6, ISO 400, 100mm.

- My grandson Robert was sick today with an ear infection. But he went to the doctor and after his first dose of medicine kicked in, he was good as new for about an hour. During that time we played and I took this picture of him looking at me. He is holding the cat training aide (a.k.a. squirt bottle) which he loves to use much to Sasha's regret. - The colors and shapes of nature never fail to astound me. This dahlia's deep coral color and the curving stem lit by the "golden hour" setting sun make for an interesting photograph. Canon 7D, 1/400 sec @ f/5.6, ISO 100, 100mm macro.

- Yesterday was a glorious day for a the neighborhood parade. A high of 82, clear skies and a nice - breeze the weather was perfect!
